Northumberland OPP – Carrying Place Woman Charged with Careless Driving Causing Death x2 (No Name Released)

Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged an individual as a result of a fatal collision investigation.

On December 8, 2023, shortly before 1:20 p.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario provincial Police (OPP), Northumberland Paramedics and Trent Hills Fire Department, responded to a report of collision involving a passenger vehicle and a pick-up truck on Dominion Road in Warkworth.

A 76-year-old from Hastings was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 70-year-old from Hastings was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced as deceased. A family pet which was also in the passenger vehicle, succumbed to its injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old female, from Carrying Place, has been charged with:

–      Careless driving causing death – two counts.

The accused is due to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
