Port Hope Man Charged Uttering Threats, Assault with a Weapon
A 24-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged after an altercation with another male.
On July 12th, 2024, the victim phoned Police to report that he was assaulted with a knife. Upon arrival, Police witnessed the accused utter threats to the victim and admitted he tried to stab him with a knife. The victim sustained minor injuries.
As a result, the accused was charge with:
Breach of Recognizance
Uttering Threats to cause Bodily Harm
Assault with a Weapon
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Port Hope Man Charged with Indecent Act, Fail to Comply
A 54-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged after a female reported a man was in the area of Toronto Rd and Bruton Street, exposing himself and yelling obscenities at her.
On July 15th, 2024, Police were called to the area and placed the individual under arrest. As a result, the male was charged with the following:
Indecent Act – Public Place
Fail to Comply with a probation Order
Port Hope Man Charged with Impaired
A 47-year-old Port Hope male was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving after Police were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision.
On July 17, 2024, Police were called to a location on Dorset Street West. Upon arrival, it was determined that a male had been riding a 4-wheeler and rolled the vehicle, while not wearing a helmet.
As a result of an investigation, it was determined that that male was impaired by alcohol.
He was charged with the following:
Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
Dangerous operation of a vehicle
Fail to Comply with Probation Order
The male was released on an undertaking.
Numerous Reports of Mischief
Between the July 22nd and 24th there were 7 Mischief complaints reported to Port Hope Police. All took place in the area of Young Street and Harcourt Street in Port Hope. These mischiefs occur between 1:00am and 5:00am. Incidents of vehicle windows being smashed as well as a chalk-like substance beings sprayed on vehicles.
