Stolen Vehicles
On the 6th of May at 12:00am, a 2020 white Chevrolet pick-up truck, Ontario licence plate BX72486 was taken from Hawker Construction on Highway 37. It was returned to the job site at 4:00am with significant damage to the tailgate, appearing to have backed into a wooden structure. Further, on the 6th of May at 4:00am, a second pick-up truck was stolen from Hawker Construction which was last observed heading Northbound on Highway 37. The stolen truck is a 2012 silver GMC, Ontario licence plate AY49063 with Hawker Construction decals on both sides of the truck. If this truck is observed, please contact the nearest police service.
Assault and Breach of Probation
On the 6th of May at 7:20pm, Belleville Police received several 911 calls for a disturbance in the city’s east end where and male had assaulted a female and then fled in a vehicle. The female sustained physical injuries however declined medical attention. Numerous police units attended the area and were able to quickly locate the vehicle. Police conducted a traffic stop. The vehicle stopped but the male suspect took off on foot. He was arrested a short distance away by officers. Police continued their investigation into the assault and learned the male was in a relationship with the female he assaulted and further, he was on Probation conditions relating to a previous assault on the same female. As a result of the investigation, a 22-year-old male from Deseronto was charged with assault and three counts of Breach of Probation. The male was held for a bail hearing.

Breaking into a vehicle leads to charges
On the 7th of May at 12:40am, Belleville Police received a call regarding a male breaking into a vehicle in the city’s east end. Police attended and located the male a short distance away. The investigation revealed that the male had broken the rear window of the vehicle in an attempt to steal anything of value inside. As a result of the investigation, 41-year-old Randall Gibson of Belleville was charged with mischief and breaching a condition of his probation. Gibson was released on an Undertaking with a court date in June.
