Housing Unit Takeover Arrests
Three people are facing charges after an incident Tuesday evening.
At approximately 7:00pm on April 30, 2024, officers were conducting a well-being check at a residence on Fairbairn Street in Peterborough. Upon knocking on the door a 24-year-old man exited the residence with a gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated at the scene by EMS and taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre for treatment. It was learned there were more people in the residence. Officers with the Emergency Response Team, K9 and RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System) Units set up and the residence was cleared by officers.
As a result of the incident,
A 22-year-old St. Catharines man was arrested and charged with:
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, May 1, 2024.
A 16-year-old Whitby male was arrested and charged with:
The accused is currently bound by an undertaking with the following conditions to abide by a set curfew in their place of residence and to not possess a firearm or prohibited weapon.

A 15-year-old Ajax male was arrested and charged with:
The accused is being held in custody and will appear in court today, May 1, 2024.
Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the name of the accused cannot be released.
During the arrests officers seized:
Peterborough Police will remain at the scene until the investigation is completed.
