Update – Driver Charged Under the Highway Traffic Act Following Collision with Bus Shelter in Cobourg

The driver of a vehicle that collided with a bus shelter in Cobourg on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act.

Shortly before 1 p.m. on Wednesday, emergency services responded to the area of Kerr Street and Division Street for a single vehicle collision.

A vehicle with four occupants collided with a bus shelter on the south east side of the roadway, destroying the shelter.

None of the occupants in the vehicle were seriously injured and no one was inside the bus shelter.

A bumper on the back of the vehicle stated, “hot girls hit curbs.”

The driver was charged with Turn Not in Safety under the Highway Traffic Act.
