Town of Cobourg 2024 Waterfront Season Parking Passes Now on Sale

The Town of Cobourg is pleased to announce 2024 Waterfront Season Parking Passes are now on sale. Waterfront parking is in effect annually starting on the Victoria Day weekend (Saturday, May 18, 2024) to Thanksgiving Day.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to purchase their passes online at parking.cobourg.ca or visit the Municipal Law Enforcement office, located in the Market Building at 201 Second Street.

People who would like to purchase their parking passes are reminded to know the license plate(s) and make of the vehicle, and bring photo ID. One pass is permitted per Cobourg residential address. Residents can register up to two vehicles per pass, however only one vehicle can utilize the pass at a time.

Waterfront Parking Pass Options Include:

Daily Waterfront Parking Pass – $40/day (Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving Day): Eligible in all on-street and pay and display lots except for the Charles Street lot which is reserved for

Cobourg residents only.

Resident Waterfront Season Pass – (Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving Day): Eligible in all on-street and pay and display waterfront areas.

$40/season – Cobourg Residents

$20/season – East Beach Area residents

Visitor Waterfront Season Pass – $150/season. The parking pass will be available for non-residents to utilize all season long. Eligible in all on-street and pay and display lots except for the Charles Street lot.

East Beach Parking Area

On-street parking, east of Victoria Park (as shown on the map) is the East Beach parking area. Paid parking in this area is available using a Waterfront Pass (Daily or Resident Pass) or Honk Mobile. Hours of enforcement in the East Beach Parking Area is 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Overnight parking at the Cobourg waterfront is available only within the East Beach parking area.

 

Council Requesting Parking Evaluation:
Council has requested that staff report back on steps and recommendations to reimagine the parking program within the Town of Cobourg. The goal being to simplify the program so that it can be easily understood by residents and visitors. Additionally, Council has asked staff to investigate the potential for Cobourg taxpayers to pay for all paid parking within Town in a single yearly payment and at a steeply discounted rate, while taking into consideration the potential loss in parking revenue. A staff report with next steps is expected to come back to Council with the goal of implementing changes for 2025.
