Belleville Police Service – Incidents Include Assault and Drug Charges, Stunt Driving, Disturbance Call (Names Released)

Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 88 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on April 10, 2024 to 5:00 am on April 11, 2024.

Assault and Drug Charges
On the 10th of April at 9:50am, Belleville Police were called to an address in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the involved parties and witnesses. Police learned that the involved male had physically assaulted the female. There were no reported injuries. During the investigation, the male involved was also found to be in possession of controlled substances. As a result of the investigation, a 33-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault, failing to comply with an Undertaking, two counts of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking and obstructing a peace officer. The male was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Disturbance call leads to arrests
On the 10th of April at 10:15pm, officers were called to a residence in the city’s west-end regarding a disturbance where a male was attempting to hit people while swinging a no parking sign. Upon arrival, officers learned that a second male had brandished a knife during the assault. Paramedics attended and transported the victim to the Belleville General Hospital with minor injuries. One of the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle prior to police arrival, however police obtained a description of the vehicle and located it a short time later and arrested the suspect. As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old Deseronto man was charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm. He was held for a bail hearing. Further, 25-year-old Jenry Ixmatlahua was charged with assault with a weapon and released on an Undertaking with a court date in May. The Belleville Police Service Criminal Investigation Division is continuing the investigation. Stunt Driving charge
On the 10th of April at 7:58pm, an officer on patrol on Hwy #2 observed a vehicle travelling at 152km/h in a 60km/h zone. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke to the driver. During the investigation, the 45-year-old female driver from Shannonville registered a caution on the road side screening device. As a result, her driver’s licence was suspended for three days, her vehicle was towed and she was charged with stunt driving – excessive speed. She was issued a summons for a traffic court date in June.

Project Renewal – Arrests and Charges
On the 9th of April, as a result of a drug trafficking investigation in the city of Belleville, members of Project Renewal, Belleville Police K9 and Emergency Response Unit members arrested nine persons in the area of 325 North Front St. Belleville.
Police located a quantity of Cocaine (10.8 grams), Crack Cocaine (3.3 grams) along with $1,840 dollars in Canadian currency.
The following persons were arrested and charged:

25-year-old Kaitlyn Dalton of North Frontenac
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.
Dalton was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant from another police service for dangerous driving and flight from police. She was issued a release order with a future court date for the charges related to the warrant.

32-year-old Alex Dumouchel of Frankford
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.

41-year-old Jamie Henderson of Belleville
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.

18-year-old Arianna King of Belleville
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.

50-year-old Terri-Lynn Lafrance of Belleville
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.

35-year-old Sara Landry of Belleville
Wanted on an outstanding warrant by BPS for forceable entry
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Released on an Undertaking for the drug charges and the outstanding warrant with a court date in May.

50-year-old Douglas Tweedy of Belleville
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.

46-year-old William Wood of Belleville
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Released on an Undertaking with a court date in May.

50-year-old Dorothy Speirs of Picton
· Possession for the Purpose of trafficking cocaine and
· Proceeds of Crime under $5000.
· Breach of Probation Failing to keep the peace and be of good behavior
· Breach of Probation possessing Drug paraphernalia
· Held for a bail hearing
