Quinte West OPP – Individual Wanted by Cobourg Police Arrested in Trenton for Drug Use (Name Released)
The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges following a report of drug use in Trenton.
On April 1, 2024 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Quinte West OPP received a report of drug use on King Street, Trenton. Officers located the individual, who provided a false name. Upon identification, it was determined that the male was wanted by Coburg Police. As a result of the subsequent arrest and search, suspected crystal methamphetamine and morphine were seized.
Joseph, VELEKE, 33 years old of Quinte West has been charged with:
Obstruct Peace Officer
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on April 19, 2024. The male was then transported to the Coburg Police Service for the execution of the warrant.
