Northumberland OPP – Trent Hills Man Charged in Historical Sexual Offence

The Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit have charged an individual in relation to a historical sexual offence.

On February 21, 2024, the victim contacted police to report a sexual assault that occurred during the period of October to November 2023. At that time, an investigation into the allegations began.

On March 5, 2024, members from the Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), Northumberland and Peterborough Crime Units executed a warrant at a residential address on County Road 38 in the Municipality of Trent Hills.

As a result, a 44-year-old male from the Municipality of Trent Hills, was arrested and charged with:

The name of the individual is being withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

The accused was held for bail to appear before the Ontario Court of J ustice.
