Northumberland OPP – Suspended Driver Investigation Leads to Seizure of Drugs (Names Released)

(TOWNSHIP OF CRAMAHE, ON) – On January 27, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., an officer from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on patrol on County Road 25 when an Automated Licence Plate Recognition (ALPR) notification was received in relation to a vehicle with expired plates.

Upon speaking with the occupants, police entered into a suspended driver investigation and a search led to the seizure of drugs suspected to be 20 grams of cocaine.

The total street value of the seized drugs is worth approximately $2000.

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
