A male is in custody following a shooting that occurred in Oshawa on Saturday evening.
On Saturday, January 27, 2024 at approximately 6:45 p.m., members of Central East Division responded to reports of an armed person in the area of Wentworth Street W and Cedar Street in Oshawa. Officers arrived on scene and located a male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a Toronto-area hospital with non-life threating injuries. A 15-year-old male was arrested at the scene without incident.
A 15-year-old male from Oshawa is facing 11 charges including: Pointing a Firearm, Discharge Firearm with Intent, Aggravated Assault, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking x2.
He was held for a bail hearing.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have security camera footage or dash cam footage from the area of Wentworth Street W and Cedar Street in Oshawa, or anyone who may have any other information about this incident to contact police.
