Cobourg Police – Brampton Man and Woman Charged with Fraud (No Name Released)
A 28-year-old woman and a 38-year-old man are facing fraud charges after police responded to a call at a north-end business Friday night.
On Friday, January 5, 2024, at approximately 7:00 p.m., police responded to a business on Strathy Road in Cobourg for a report of two individuals using false identification to obtain funds.
As a result of the investigation, a 28-year-old Brampton woman was arrested and charged with Fraud Under $5,000, Identity Theft, Drawing Document Without Authority, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
A 38-year-old Brampton man was arrested and charged with two counts of Fraud Under $5,000, two counts of Identity Theft, Drawing Document Without Authority, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Obstruct Peace Officer.
The female was released on an undertaking with a court date in February, and the male was held for a bail hearing later that same day.
