Northumberland OPP – Hamilton Township Man Charged with Impaired (Name Released)

On December 14, 2023, at approximately 2:35 p.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Hamilton Township Fire Department responded to a report of a collision in the area of Burnham Street North and Wallace Jibb Road in Hamilton Township.

Officers arrived on the scene and observed a pick-up truck that had collided with a telephone pole. The driver declined medical attention and there were no other vehicles or persons involved.

Wolfgang NABERT, 35-years-old from Hamilton Township has been charged with:

·      Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

·      Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs

A further 90-day Administrative Driver Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a seven-day vehicle impound was initiated as per statute.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a future date.
