Northumberland OPP – Two People Killed in Collision in Trent Hills

Two individuals have been pronounced deceased following a two-vehicle collision involving a pickup-truck and a passenger vehicle.

On December 8, shortly before 1:20 p.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario provincial Police (OPP), Northumberland Paramedics and Trent Hills Fire Department, responded to a report of collision on Dominion Road in Warkworth.

A 76-year-old from Hastings was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 70-year-old from Hastings was transported to a local hospital and was later pronounced as deceased. A family pet which was also in the passenger vehicle, succumbed to its injuries.

A 33-year-old from Carrying Place and sole occupant of the pick-up truck, has reported minor injuries.

Dominion Road between Mill Street and Old Hastings Road was closed for several hours while OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) members conducted their preliminary investigat ion.

This investigation remains ongoing and updates will be provided when available.
