Seventeen Days After First Bus Shelter Was Damaged Cobourg Police Issue Release

Seventeen days later after the first bus shelter was damaged, Cobourg Police have finally issued a statement regarding a number of bus shelters and Canada Post mail boxes being damaged.

Four bus shelters had the glass walls shattered at various locations in Cobourg between November 18th and December 2, 2023.

• December 2, 2023 – D’Arcy Street and Elgin Street

• November 20 – Elgin Street West

• November 20 – Densmore Road and Parkview Hills Drive

• November 18 – Walton Street and King Street East

In addition to the bus shelters, four mailboxes around town were damaged on the evening of November 23rd (11 days ago).

Three mailboxes were in the Elgin Street West retail plaza between William Street and Rogers Road. The fourth mailbox was located at King Street West and Division Street.

The incidents are still under investigation at this time. Anyone with information, video surveillance or dashcam footage of the area is asked to call police at 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
