Cobourg Police – Bewdley Man Charged with Mischief, Obstructing Peace Officer and Fail to Comply (No Name Released)

A 33-year-old Bewdley man is facing charges after police responded to a suspicious person call on Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at approximately 8:45 a.m., police received a report of a suspicious person in the area of King Street and College Street in the Town of Cobourg.

While the complainant was parked in the area, an unknown male entered the vehicle. He refused to exit despite numerous requests for him to leave. The man eventually exited the vehicle.

Police located an individual matching the description provided. The man refused to identify himself or speak with police despite numerous cautions.

The man was placed under arrest. As a result of the police investigation, the 33-year-old Bewdley man was charged with mischief under $5,000, obstructing a peace officer, and fail to comply with probation.

The accused was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
