Peterborough County OPP – Motorcycle Strikes Residence in Norwood

Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews responded to a serious single vehicle collision on Highway 7 just shortly after 6:30pm on November 5, 2023.

A homeowner called 911 reporting that a motorcycle had left the roadway, crossed their property, and struck their residence. The homeowner came out to find the motorcycle and rider laying on the ground. A second motorcycle was reported to have been at the scene but left prior to police arrival.

Additionally, Peterborough County OPP received traffic complaints of two motorcycles travelling eastbound on Highway 7 at a high rate of speed a short time prior to the collision.

The 18-year-old driver sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver was later transported to a trauma centre.
