Cobourg Police – Ongoing Assault Investigation
Police are investigating the circumstances of an assault early this morning. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
On Thursday, October 19, 2023, at approximately 12:20 a.m., police were called to the area of Chapel Street and Division Street for a report of an altercation between two individuals.
Officers arrived on scene and located a male suffering from what appeared to be cuts to his chest. The victim was transported to the hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and later released.
This is not believed to be a random incident. The investigation is ongoing. Police encourage anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area to call 905-372-6821 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS or visiting stopcrimehere.ca. Tips received through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for a cash reward.
