Cobourg Police Seize Five Stolen Bicycles from Encampment (No Charges)

(Today’s Northumberland file photo)

The Cobourg Police Service (CPS) encourages residents to use the online reporting system to register their bicycles after an increase in stolen bike reports. The online bicycle registration program helps increase the chance of having a bike returned to its owner if it is lost or stolen.

Police have recovered five stolen bicycles today and are working to return the recovered bikes to their rightful owners. If your bike is lost or stolen and you have not completed a police report, please contact police at (905) 372-6821 with a description to see if one of the bikes is yours. No one was in possession of the bikes when police seized them, and no charges were issued.

To register your bike, please visit our website at cobourgpoliceservice.com/online-reporting/ and click on the Start Report button.

Registering your bike will greatly increase your chances of having your bicycle returned to you if it is lost or stolen. Bike owners will need to provide information about the bike and ownership, including:

• Brand

• Make and model

• Serial number

• Owner name and contact information

Bike owners can also include photos and add more than one bicycle at the same time.

For more information or to register your bike, please visit cobourgpoliceservice.com/online-reporting/.
