Durham Regional Police – Female Arrested for Fraud after Impersonating Nurse

A 25-year-old female is facing several fraud charges after impersonating a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN).

 

On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, members of the Major Crime Fraud Unit made an arrest in the investigation of a female suspect applying for jobs as a RPN with fraudulent documentation. The suspect had documentation from various governing bodies which she claimed where hers. The suspect is not registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

 

Since 2021, the suspect was employed as an RPN by at least four senior retirement and long-term care residences through-out the GTA.

 

A photo of the suspect is being released as investigators want to ensure there are no further victims.

 

Aaliyah-Elizabeth SAMPAT, age 25, of Oshawa is charged with eleven offences, including: Fraud Over $5000 x4; Utter Forged Document x2; Personation with Intent and Possess Identity Information with Inference of Fraud.

 

She was held for a bail hearing.
