Durham Regional Police – Vehicle Theft Suspects Arrested in Clarington (Names Released)

Two suspects from Montreal have been arrested after they were found stealing vehicles in Clarington.

On Thursday, January 19, 2023, at approximately 2 a.m., the two suspects attended Ronald Hooper Avenue in Clarington and attempted to steal two Dodge Ram pick-up trucks. The suspects left the area and returned later that morning but members of East Division intercepted the suspects. A 17-year-old male and a 21-year-old male were arrested and taken into custody.

Jacob EL-LEISY, age 21, and a 17-year-old male both of Montreal were charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle Over $5,000 x2. They were both released on an Undertaking.

Upon their release, they both contravened the conditions of their Undertaking and were re-arrested and charged with Fail to Comply. They were held for a bail hearing.
