One of Cobourg’s many holiday traditions is to offer an hour of free parking downtown for the month of December.
Once again, the town has partnered with the Downtown Business Improvement Area to bring back this offer for downtown shoppers through Dec. 31, good within any downtown metered streets or municipal parking lots.
“On behalf of the Town of Cobourg and the DBIA, we are pleased to be providing one hour of free paid parking,” Cobourg Mayor Lucas Cleveland said in the announcement.
“I encourage our residents and visitors to shop and support our local businesses. Enjoy the holidays, shop locally and have a wonderful downtown experience.”
Visitors to the downtown are reminded that the downtown street meters are $1.25 an hour, and that any expired meter will be given a one-hour grace period by the town’s Municipal Law Enforcement Officers. Vehicles parked longer than the one-hour grace period will be subject to parking tickets.
