FOOD – ART – CRAFT
Back for a third time, hosted by, Signe Langford, The Port Hope Makers’ Market features an exciting group of artisans, cooks, and farmers – both local and from a little farther afield – selling art, crafts, foods, and for this market – Cabin Fever – seeds, seedlings, and other great stuff for the garden.
Cabin Fever – the Kitchen and Garden Edition, is all about getting into the garden and kitchen.
“By April,” says Langford. “I think we’ll all be a little cabin-crazy and dreaming of spring. This market is designed to inspire and lift our spirits. It’s going to be a great weekend with Float Your Fanny on Saturday, and the Makers’ Market on Sunday!”
Langford has rounded up a collection of over 30 vendors for this one-day event. “We’ll have everything,” says Langford. “Great food, garden décor, seeds and seedlings, garden art; we’ll also have – back by popular demand – Papa Ghanoush and Momma Hummus, from PEC, with their mouthwatering Syrian food!”
The show will be mostly inside the Port Hope Lion’s Club with a few vendors set up outside in the ample parking lot.
“April is one of those months,” says Langford. “We might be in flip flops or parkas, but we will be outside, especially since one of our visitors prefers it that way!”
Langford is referring to the four-legged ambassador from Primrose Donkey Sanctuary, Darwin, who will be in attendance. Every market features a charity – past charities have been: The Giving Tree and Northumberland Habitat for Humanity.
Also in attendance will be members of the Spiritual Park at St. John’s the Evangelist Anglican Church. Come and find out about this wonderful initiative and community meeting place.
As of March 1st, the vaccine passport mandate has been dropped, so that won’t be required to enter, however, masks will still be mandatory inside.
