Habitat for Humanity Northumberland “Sunday Dinner” Comes Back to the ReStore, Italian-style

In person fundraising events are back at Habitat Northumberland. To kick things off, they are welcoming back their very popular “Sunday Dinner” in the ReStore. Habitat for Humanity Northumberland is inviting the community to safely gather for a casual dining experience right in the ReStore in Cobourg. Proceeds from the event will be used to purchase materials to build Habitat houses in Northumberland County.

This second annual dinner fundraiser, (skip ahead two years for COVID), will start at 5:30pm and will invite guests to enjoy an Italian themed evening featuring cocktails with Hors d’Oeuvres, followed by dinner and dessert all provided by local Prep Food and Co.

“We are so thrilled to be back to in-person events. After 2 years, we are opening the doors of the ReStore to a limited number of guests for an evening filled with sights and sounds of Italy,” explained Melissa Cranston, Community and Fund Development Coordinator. “This year we wanted to have a theme that would make people excited again, a menu that would transport people across the globe, when so many of us haven’t left the four walls of our house in so long.”

The first dinner in the ReStore in 2019 saw guests assemble at long tables and eat family style. This year guests will dine within their bubble at a table size of their choice. Executive Director Meaghan Macdonald emphasizes that although she is excited to gather together, “we are very conscious of the current provincial COVID guidelines and we will follow what those mandates dictate for the safety of both guests and staff/volunteers.”

Sponsors interested in participating in this event have several different opportunities to contribute. Dinner, wine, and cocktail sponsorships are currently available. Tickets for the dinner are available on Habitat’s website at //habitatnorthumberland.ca/dinner and are $125 per person. Only 100 tickets are available for this event!
