Northumberland OPP – Traffic Stop Results in Significant Drug Seizure

(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP, ON) – As a result of a traffic stop in the early hours of the morning, members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized a significant amount of drugs worth an estimated street value of $3,358, 544 dollars.

On Thursday February 10, 2022, at approximately 03:10 a.m., a member of the Northumberland OPP observed a vehicle with no tail lights driving eastbound on Highway 401 at County Rd 25, in Cramahe Township. The officer conducted a traffic stop and observed cannabis was readily available to the driver.

As a result of the investigation, the officer, with the assistance of the Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), seized the following items:

Kabilan ANURA (age 25) of Brampton Ontario, stands charged with the following offences:

The accused party was arrested and released on an undertaking and is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice on March 23rd, 2022, in the Town of Cobourg.
