Cobourg Council – Mayor Contemplates a Virtual Levee

By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland

Not able to do so at the New Year’s Day levee he was forced to cancel – along with several other late-holiday-season events – Cobourg Mayor John Henderson extended happy-new-year wishes at this week’s council meeting.

It’s early – we are still in the very early part of January – and I remain optimistic that, come spring, we will have a better outcome for all of us,” Henderson predicted.

While the cancellation was necessary to protect those invited, as well as staff members and councillors, Henderson said he was looking into arranging a virtual version of the New Year’s Day levee. Should it work out, he said those with tickets to the original version will be notified.
