Kawartha Lakes OPP – Driver Charged Fail to Remain/Refuse Breath Sample
Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a driver for failing to remain at the scene of a collision and refusing to provide a breath sample.
On December 8, 2021, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision into the ditch at the 7th Concession in Somerville Township. The driver left the scene prior to police arrival. As a result of the investigation, the driver was identified and located. The driver refused to comply with the officer’s demand to provide a breath sample into a roadside screening device and was arrested and charged.
Mark ROESNER, 31 years of age, of Somerville Township, has been charged with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
- Fail to remain
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, on December 23, 2021.
