Quinte West OPP – Attempted Oil Change Results in Impaired Charge

The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver following a complaint from a concerned citizen.

On October 29, 2021, at approximately 10:30 a.m., Quinte West OPP officers responded to a business on 2nd Dug Hill Road in Trenton after an employee reported there was someone attempting to get an oil change for their vehicle who appeared to be impaired. Officers attended the business and located t he driver in their vehicle. After observing obvious signs of impairment, the driver was arrested. The accused was transported to the Quinte West OPP Detachment for testing where blood alcohol levels were determined to be well in excess of the legal limit.

Julia MACNEIL, 58 years old of Quinte West has been charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).

The accused was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on November 18, 2021. Additionally, their license was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
