Cobourg Public Library – Working Together to Keep Local Feet Warm This Year

Socks are one of the most needed and overlooked items for homeless and low-income individuals in our community. Socks help keep feet dry, warm and safe from disease.

In celebration of Ontario Public Library Month and reinforcing that libraries do indeed, build communities, the Cobourg Public Library will be hosting their first Annual Sock Collection drive from October 1st to 31st. They will be accepting donations of new socks for women, men and children at all three Cobourg library branches. The socks will then be distributed to several, local non-profit organizations to directly reach those in need.

“In the past few years the Cobourg Public Library has seen the need for personal care products go up amongst many of our visitors. Our goal is to work together with the help of donors and the wider community, to help make this a warmer winter for those in need.”
– Tammy Robinson, CEO

Let’s show that even a small act of love, such as donating a pair of new socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless or in need.
