Dramatic Video – Durham Regional Police – Female Drives Car Into Residence

Pickering house fire start to finish. Aug/24/21

A 37-year-old female is facing charges after she repeatedly drove a vehicle into a residence in Pickering, which subsequently caught fire.

On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at approximately 5:30 p.m., members from West Division responded to a call regarding a female driving a vehicle into the garage door of a residence. She repeatedly drove into the garage door until it broke and she continued driving into the residence. The vehicle caught fire, which subsequently ignited the residence.

The female fled the vehicle but was found nearby and apprehended under the Mental Health Act. No one was injured in the residence.

Pickering Fire contained the blaze and the Fire Marshal attended to investigate.

A 37-year-old female from Pickering was charged with Arson – Damage to Property; Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance; Mischief/Damage Property Over $5000 and Mischief to Property Endangering Life. She was held for a bail hearing.
