Durham Regional Police – Scugog Collision Involving Motorcycle

A 55-year-old driver of a motorcycle has sustained serious injuries following a motor vehicle collision in Scugog on Monday.

On Monday August 2, 2021 at approximately 5:53 p.m., members from North Division responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a van and motorcycle. A 48-year-old female from Clarington was reportedly driving a 2013 red Dodge Caravan westbound on Regional Road 19 when it struck a motorcycle at the intersection of Old Scugog Road.

The driver of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center where he remains in serious but stable condition. The driver of the van sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit were called and the roadway in the area was closed for several hours to collect evidence. The investigation is ongoing. Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police.
