Northumberland County – Flags Reman at Half-Mast to Mark Tragedy in London

Flags at Northumberland County facilities will remain at half-mast today to mark the tragic loss of four family members in London, Ontario following a car attack on Sunday, June 5.

“As a sign of support for, and solidarity with, the City of London and its Muslim community following the heinous attack that led to the deaths of four members of a family on Sunday, Northumberland County flags will remain at half-mast for Wednesday, June 9, 2021,” states County Warden Bob Crate.

“On behalf of Northumberland County Council, staff and the entire community, our thoughts go out to the victims—including our best wishes for healing and recovery for the child in hospital—and we extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends grieving this senseless tragedy.

Our community stands with you in this grief, and resoundingly rejects Islamophobia, and all forms of racism and hate.”
