Cobourg Police – Two Men Charged Resulting from Drug Investigation

Two men were charged as a result of a drug investigation in the Town of Cobourg.


In late April of 2021, as part of an ongoing enhanced enforcement strategy targeting illegal drug activity
affecting Northumberland County and the safety of our citizens, the Cobourg Police Service and the Port Hope
Police Service commenced a drug investigation.

As a result of this investigation and search, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, members of the Cobourg Police Service
and Port Hope Criminal Investigations Branches arrested two men. Police seized a quantity of suspected
Fentanyl.


Jeremy KING, 34 years old of Cobourg, is charged with:

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances
Act.


Trevor McVETY, 46 years old of Cobourg, is charged with:

Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances
Act.


Both accused were released on undertakings with future court dates.
