Northumberland OPP – Investigating Suspicious Death in Campbellford

(TRENT HILLS, ON) – The death of an individual from the Town of Campbellford is now considered suspicious.

On Saturday, March 27, 2021, at approximately 7:19 p.m., members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)
responded to a call at a residence in Campbellford. When officers arrived at the address they learned that John WESLEY, age 59 of Campbellford, had been transported to hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.

On Monday, March 29, 2021, a post mortem examination was conducted at the Office of the Chief Coroner in Toronto. As a result of the investigation to date, police are treating the death as suspicious.

The Northumberland OPP Crime Unit and Central Region Forensic Identification Services (FIS) are continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner of Ontario.
