You Can Now Borrow a Provincial Park (Pass) from the Cobourg Public Library

One of the hottest new items to hit the Cobourg Public Library isn’t a book.

It’s a kit containing a provincial park pass that allows access for one vehicle and its occupants to more than 100 Provincial Parks in Ontario. Along with the pass, patrons can also borrow a set of binoculars, a compass, a $5 day-use discount coupon, a Parks Guide and a Discovery Activity Booklet.

“The goal of this program is to help Ontarians spend more time in nature, by making it easier and more affordable for people to enjoy the benefits of Provincial Parks.” says CEO, Tammy Robinson.

Robinson also noted that this isn’t the first of alternative items being offered at the Cobourg Public Library. “We have binge bundles, discovery backpacks, and a telescope lending program. The provincial park kit is a fantastic addition to this.”

The park kits will be available to patrons on a first-come, first-serve basis for a 7-day loan that is not renewable. There will be three available, one at each branch in Gores Landing, Bewdley, and Cobourg. The kits will be ready for patrons to check out on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021.
