Northumberland OPP – Investigate Break and Enter in Port Hope

(MUNICIPALITY OF PORT HOPE, ON) – Members from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the theft of approximately $50,000 worth of contents from a residential property on Lunny Lane, located just south of the 10th Line near Campbellcroft.

The theft is believed to have occurred between Sunday January 3, 2021 at approximately 2:00 pm and January 6, 2021 at 5:00 pm.

The owner returned to the home that is currently under renovations on the evening of January 6, 2021, to find the back door had been breached, and locks to the shipping containers located on the property cut.

Several items from the within the home and contents that were stored in the shipping containers were found to be missing including a dishwasher, several electronics, food, a deep freezer full of meat and various tools.

The items reported stolen include but are not limited to the following:

· 75 inch and 65 inch Sony Q LED televisions with remotes
· Sony surround sound system
· Macbook Pro laptop
· Acer laptop
· Two safe’s (Brinks and Safeguard)
· 10 Dewalt drills
· Dewalt impact guns
· Stihl masonry saws
· Dewalt grinders
· Dewalt generators
· Dewalt chop saw and stand
· Dewalt table saw
· Dewalt skil saws
· Dewalt sawsall
· Dewalt jigsaw
· Keys to several vehicles
· Numerous amounts of miscellaneous tools

The Northumberland OPP is asking for the public’s assistance with this ongoing investigation and would ask that anyone with information to call their nearest OPP detachment.
