Cobourg Council – Remembrance Day Did Not Go Unobserved

By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland

Mayor John Henderson extended thanks to the dedicated team that did not let Remembrance Day go unobserved.

Though the regular parade and public observances were not possible due to COVID-19, a small group put together a service small enough to allow for proper social distancing that went on in time to observe that all-important 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to honour and remember our veterans (and those who fell in the line of duty) at the Victoria Park cenotaph.

Then Henderson joined the organizers as they went the extra mile to restage the observances outdoors at every long-term-care home in Cobourg.

Offering his personal thanks to this dedicated group, he continued, “I would like to honour our Canadian Armed Forces – past, present and future – for keeping us safe and well.”
