Mark MacDonald Named Cramahe Township Fire Chief
The Municipality of Cramahe Township announces the appointment of Mark MacDonald as Fire Chief.
“We are pleased our volunteer fire department will continue to build on its record of exemplary dedication under the leadership of Mark MacDonald,” Cramahe Township Mayor Mandy Martin says. “Our council and municipality are committed to ensuring the department continues to be honoured for its service — and excellence.”
Mark has been in the fire service since 1987, starting as a volunteer firefighter in Kingston Township. He moved through the ranks at Belleville Fire Department starting in 1992 becoming Fire Chief in December 2012 until 2020.
From 2004 to 2012, Mark was the Fire Chief at Central Frontenac Township while continuing to serve with Belleville Fire.
Mark has also demonstrated his enthusiasm to the fire services by holding two terms as Director with the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs where portfolios included Rural/Suburban, Provincial Advisory and Next Gen/Communications committees and Mutual Aid Fire Coordinator for Hastings and Prince Edward Counties since 2013.
“Coming up to retirement from Belleville, I know I still have more to give to — and learn from — the Fire Service in Ontario. I am very excited and honored to continue to serve with the Township of Cramahe and their dedicated Fire Department team members as my family flips the page to the next chapter of my public service life.”
We would like to sincerely thank Bruce Greatrix, Interim Fire Chief, who will be staying on with the department until Mark assumes his position.
Fire Chief Mark MacDonald will assume his position March 29, 2021.
