Motorcycle Rider Succumbs to Injuries Following Head-On Collision on County Road 2 West of Colborne
(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP, ON) – Members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a serious collision which occurred west of the town of Colborne on County Road 2.
At approximately 2:45 pm on Friday October 23, 2020, emergency services including police, Cramahe Township Fire Department and Northumberland Paramedics responded to a head-on collision involving two motorcycles on County Road 2 between Ontario Street and Townline Road.
One of the motorcycles was heading east and another was heading west when one of the motorcycles crossed into the other lane on a corner.
Three riders were taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital. One rider has since died as a result of the injuries sustained in the collision. The passenger on one of bikes has been transported by Ornge air ambulance to a trauma center in Toronto with critical injuries.
County Road 2 was closed for several hours between Ontario Street and Townline Road while OPP members trained in collision reconstruction measure and documented the scene.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this collision.
