Cobourg Police – Drug Search Warrant Executed in the Municipality of Port Hope

The Cobourg Police Service and Port Hope Police Service have executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant in the Municipality of Port Hope as part of an ongoing enhanced
enforcement strategy targeting illegal drug activity affecting our communities and the safety of our citizens.

On Monday, September 21st, 2020, as part of an ongoing joint drug enforcement investigation, members of the Cobourg Police Service, Port Hope Police Service Criminal Investigations Branch and Uniform Patrol executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act Search Warrant at a residence on Dorset Street in Port Hope.

As a result of this investigation and search, police seized the following:
10.5 grams of Fentanyl
22.9 grams of powdered Cocaine
1 gram of Crack Cocaine
2 grams of Crystal Methamphetamine
Police also seized $12,200 cash, and four (4) prohibited knives. The estimated street value of the seized drugs was $7,000.

The following persons were charged:

Shauna Marie WILSON, 32-year-old of Port Hope, is charged with:

1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – contrary to section 5(2) of the
Controlled Drugs and Substances Act x 3 (Jointly)

2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – contrary to section 5(2) of the
Controlled Drugs and Substances Act x 2 (Jointly)

3. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine – contrary to section 5(2) of
the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

4. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over – contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
(Jointly)

5. Possession of a Prohibited Weapon-contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code x 2 (Jointly)

6. Possession of a Prohibited Weapon-contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code

 

Darryl Edward THORNE, 42-year-old of Port Hope, is charged with:

1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Fentanyl – contrary to section 5(2) of the
Controlled Drugs and Substances Act x 3 (Jointly)

2. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine – contrary to section 5(2) of the
Controlled Drugs and Substances Act x 2 (Jointly)

3. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over – contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
(Jointly)

4. Possession of a Prohibited Weapon-contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code x 2
(Jointly)

5. Possession of a Prohibited Weapon-contrary to Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code
Both accused were held for bail hearings set for Tuesday, September 22nd, 2020.
