Local Artist Helping Keep Terry’s Dream Alive

Terry Fox Cobourg

Local artist Jenny Duda spent the afternoon along the boardwalk in Cobourg on Sunday, September 20, 2020.

The purpose was to educate people about Canadian icon Terry Fox who has inspired millions in the fight against cancer.

Duda brought a banner she created when she was teaching at a school in Courtice in 2017.

Along with the banner that was hung on the fence for the afternoon were notes Duda created along with quotes from Terry Fox during his Marathon of Hope that started on the east coast.

A string with 24 tags was placed along the fence and each tag explains about the Marathon of Hope and how Terry’s run ended in Thunder Bay after travelling 3,339 miles.

“Help keep Canada’s real Super Hero’s dream alive,” wrote Duda.
