A woman was airlifted to a Toronto hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Friday, August 14, 2020 in Cobourg.
Shortly before 4:30 a.m. emergency services were called to the area of Division Street by James Street for a collision involving a pedestrian.
It appears a woman was crossing the street and was hit by a northbound pickup truck just south of the intersection.
The front of the pickup sustained damage from the collision and a number of items were on the roadway including sandals, glasses and headphoneséearphones.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators were called to examine the scene and take photographs and measurements.
The woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries and transported by air to a Toronto Area Hospital in serious condition.
The area of Division Street and James Street was closed until approximately 1:30 p.m. for the investigation.
Investigating officers are asking witnesses who may have observed the collision, but left prior to speaking to police, to please come forward. Officers are also appealing to anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time to please come forward.
