Northumberland OPP Charge Two More Impaired Drivers

(MUNCIPALITY OF BRIGHTON, ON) At approximately 3:00 am on Saturday July 11, 2020, an officer travelling eastbound on Highway 401 just past the highway off ramp to Brighton, observed a silver Chevrolet four door hatchback stopped on the north side of the highway along the centre median. After a conversation with the uninjured driver, the officer suspected the driver had been consuming alcohol. A roadside screening device test was administered and the driver registered a “fail”. The operator was then transported back to the OPP detachment in Brighton for further testing which resulted in the driver registering over three times the legal limit.

· Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
· Operation while impaired – alcohol and drugs
· Driving while under suspension
