Northumberland OPP – Delivery Driver Charged with Stunt Driving

At approximately 8:15 pm on Thursday April 23, 2020 an officer from the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a 2017 Grey Hyundai SUV on Percy Street in the Village of Castleton after it was measured travelling 119 km/h in a posted 60km/h zone.

The 32 year-old parcel delivery driver from Montral, Quebec was charged with:

• Stunt driving in relation to excessive speed.

The operators licence was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle was towed and impounded. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg at a later date.
Highway safety is a shared responsibility and the OPP would like to remind motorists to drive within posted speed limits, exercise patience and not allow themselves to be distracted while driving.
