Quinte West OPP Advise It’s Not a Good Plan To Steal A Police Sign
On Monday April 6, 2020 at approximately 3:00 p.m. officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call of someone attempting to remove the OPP sign from the old OPP Detachment building on Dixon Drive in the City of Quinte West.
The investigation lead to a 55 year old male of Quinte West being charged with Trespassing.
The OPP want to remind the public that it is not only an offence to enter onto the property where the demolition of the old OPP Detachment is occurring but it is extremely dangerous. The structure of the building is no longer intact and it is h ighly possible that debris on the demolition site could cause personal injury.
Any person witnessing or having information regarding person(s) trespassing on the above mentioned property is requested to contact the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) at 1-888-310-1122.
