The CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic keeps growing and becoming more successful each year thanks to the support from the Batawa Development Corporation.
This four-on-four tournament is hosted at the Battawa Community Centre, 81 Plant Steet, Batawa, ON, K0K1E0, welcoming teams of all abilities.
The aim is to support Canada’s ill and injured Canadian Armed Forces Military members, Veterans and their families by raising funds for Wounded Warrior Canada and the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.
CFB Trenton is known to most Canadians as the base where repatriated soldiers continue their journey home on the Highway of Heroes.
Members of CFB Trenton have participated in every repatriation ceremony and have witnessed firsthand the grief and loss of the military families. Together with the local community, CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic in support of Wounded Warriors Canada and the Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation was organized.

“We are blessed with organizations like Batawa Lions Club. Jeff Moorhouse is a fantastic leader. He is responsible for the development of the Pond Hockey and the significant amount of money it has raised for the Trenton Memorial hospital and Wounded Warriors Canada.”
“This complements the various winter and summer activities organized and available with in the City of Quinte West.”
Trenton Mayor Jim Harrison said, “the rinks are always meticulously maintained by a group of volunteers organized by the Batawa Lions. A few volunteers as often is the case provide exciting out door winter activities for so many. I can empathize this is what makes the Pond Hockey fund raiser so successful. People working together supporting others in a time of need.”
