Cobourg Council – Cobourg Sends Condolences to Those Affected by Flight 752

By Cecilia Nasmith/Today’s Northumberland
Cobourg Mayor John Henderson opened Monday’s council meeting with a reflection on the troubling news Canada has been coping with since the crash of Flight 752 in Tehran and the death of everyone aboard – roughly one-third of whom were Canadians.

“We have lost multiple individuals from many nations and, in particular, we ahve lost 57 significant Iranian-Canadian lives,” Henderson said.
“We have spent the last week looking at what has taken place in many provinces throughout the country.”

Announcing a moment of reflection, he offered condolences from council members, the chief administrative officer, senior staff, members of the news media “and the good citizens of Cobourg. I would like everyone in the Canadian community to know we stand with you in this most difficult and challenging time.”
