The Town of Cobourg has appointed Ian Davey as the Interim Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) effective August 30, 2019 for a period of six months until February 28, 2020.
The By-law 056-2019 to appoint an interim Chief Administrative Officer was made official after a Closed Session meeting and passed in an Open Session meeting of Cobourg Municipal Council held on August 12, 2019.
Ian is a lifelong resident of the Cobourg area having attended CDCI West prior to obtaining a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Wilfrid Laurier University and receiving his designation as a Chartered Accountant in 1983. The first half of his career was spent in the practice of public accounting in Cobourg prior to joining the senior management team for the Town of Cobourg in 2002. Mr. Davey currently holds the position of Municipal Treasurer and Director of Corporate Services.

A staff report will be coming forward in regards to the recruitment process and next steps in early 2020.
