Northumberland OPP – Wanted Males Located and Charged in Cobourg

On April 26, 2019 members from the Peterborough/Northumberland Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in conjunction with Cobourg Police Service and with the assistance of the OPP Emergency Response Team arrested two males wanted on outstanding warrants.

While conducting surveillance in attempts to locate a wanted person, two males were observed exiting a building located in the downtown area of Cobourg. Police approached the males as they entered a parked vehicle. One man was arrested immediately on the strength of an outstanding warrant. Upon searching him a small amount of a Schedule I was substance was found.

Police spoke with the second male who falsely identified himself but was later identified as another man who was currently wanted on an outstanding warrant and was arrested. A spring activated knife was located on the male.

A subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted which resulted in 746 grams of dried cannabis marihuana being seized.

As a result of the investigation the following two males have been arrested and charged.

Cody PUFFER (age 29) of Port Hope, Ontario
· Fail to Comply with Conditions of Undertaking Given by Officer in Charge (two counts)
· Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Opioid (other than heroin)
· Possession of over 30g dried cannabis in a public place

Wallace Nathan MUNRO (age 27) of Cobourg, Ontario
· Possession of a Prohibited Weapon contrary to Prohibition Order (two counts)
· Carrying a concealed weapon
· Obstruct Peace Officer
· Fail to Comply with Probation Order
· Possession of over 30 g dried cannabis in a public place
· Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Both males were transported to the Cobourg Police Service for the purpose of executing their warrants.
