Northumberland OPP Assist Male Requiring Medical Attention
On Saturday April 13, 2019 members of the Northumberland Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) Unit along with the OPP Central Region Snow Vehicle, All terrain Vehicle, Vessel Enforcement (SAVE) Unit, conducted patrols during the annual Float Your Fanny Down the Ganny River Race held in the Municipality of Port Hope.
Shortly after 1:00 pm the patrolling units received information that four males had abandoned their water craft and made their way to shore along the west side of the river. One of the males was reported to be in need of medical attention. The area the males were said to be was only accessible using ATV’s.
The OPP along with Port Hope Fire and Emergency Services utilizing the off road vehicles located the males and transported them to an area where an ambulance was staged on Dale Road waiting to transport one of the males with minor injuries to Northumberland Hills Hospital for treatment.
